So, today we will discuss powder codes and break them down a little bit. If you've had the question, "is my powder UV stable?" We will answer that, today.
Ok, powder codes, pretty simple here seems a little daunting but really all you need to know are the first two characters (P, U, E, H).
- P, polyester, UV stable.
- U, urethane, UV stable.
- E, epoxy, not UV stable.
Now, the second character you'll find down here this is the way to decode that. You've got 0 through 9, or S through W. This will denote the finish type, is it a solid tone, is it a leatherette, is it a wrinkle? This is where you will find that.
Here is an example, Lollipop Red UPS-1506. U, it is a polyurethane UV stable formulation, and P, it's a top coat. That's all you need to know. If you would like to try your hand at decoding The Da Vinci... or... the powder codes, you can find them at PrismaticPowders.com.
