Powder Coating Gun Settings

KV stands for kilovolt, 1 kilovolt equals 1,000 volts. In powder coating, kilovolts are the unit of measure that dictates how much electrical charge is possible from a spray gun. Equally as important, but most often overlooked are the micro amps or µA. Micro amp adjustments control the current or flow of voltage and can be used to limit the KV's. For complex parts or coating jobs, it's important to have a spray system that allows you to monitor and control both the KV output and the micro amps.
